with Ninilchik's Discover Charters and Discover Alaskan Adventures.
We’re an Alaskan family owned and operated business. We’ve been in the fishing charter and tourism industry since 1976. The 2016 fishing season in Ninilchik is May 1st thru Sept 5th; however we book other activities year-round in locations covering most of Alaska.
As stated before our base operation is located in Ninilchik, Alaska 185 south of Anchorage on the Kenai Peninsula. We are easily accessible by road.
Our Ninilchik based operation has cabins, an RV Park and guided halibut charters fishing on safe and comfortable 28’ to 30’ boats on Cook Inlet (all have enclosed bathrooms).
We also offer guided fishing for Chinook salmon (King Salmon) and Coho salmon (Silver salmon) on the famous Kenai River and the Kasilof River in season.
Fly-out trips are also available for bear viewing and guided salmon fishing on the west side of Cook Inlet.
During July and August we offer guided silver salmon only trips or a combination trip (Silver Salmon and bottom fishing) from Seward, Alaska on six-passenger or ten-passenger boats.
We offer single-day charters for salmon, halibut or bear viewing/salmon fishing, as well as our lodging/fishing packages, at very competitive rates.
Our packages all include lodging in fully furnished cabins with all the amenities, guided fishing, tackle, bait and fish filleting.
The only things our packages don’t include are your food, fishing licenses (as an example a non-resident 3-day fishing license is $35 per person), and vacuum sealing, rental car and transportation to Alaska.
There are several restaurants and a well-stocked general store in Ninilchik.
In general, Halibut and Salmon fishing run May 1 to mid-September.
Chinook salmon fishing picks up mid-May and peaks in July (the season closes July 31st). Coho Salmon fishing runs from mid-July with the peak fishing during August.
